Introduction:

    My name is Rebecca Hayes-Johnson and I was born in Lincolnshire in the UK. I also lived in New York on Governors Island, and in South East England, but spent most of my teen years growing up in the South West of England in Cornwall. My Dad was a Search and Rescue Pilot in the Royal Air Force, which accounts for the numerous moves, but also the amazing experiences that I've had!

    Ever since living in New York when I was little, I'd dreamt of moving back to the States "when I grew up", and I'm now living in sunny Southern California and I guess you could say I'm grown up, and living my American dream!
    I've always loved to draw and paint for as long as I can remember. One or two classes of Art a week at school were not enough, so as soon as they let me pick my course subjects, I set my focus on Fine Art, Art and Design, and Design and Realisation. I often think of one of my teachers and wish I could tell him what an amazing support he was to me. His name is Mr. Edwards from Newquay Tretherras School and he was incredible! Thank you Mr. Edwards!

    I've traveled to Prague, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Cyprus, the Canary Islands and a couple of places inbetween - I've seen a million beautiful things and some breath taking architecture along the way. Now I'm trying to share some of the beautiful things that I see a bit closer to my new home.

Biography:

2004 - Present - Painting and drawing "Stateside". Enjoying my new home.

1999 - 2000 - Attended St. Austell College, Cornwall, UK - received a BTEC Diploma  
                         for Foundation Studies in Art and Design, and a City and Guilds  
                         Creative Skills Certificate in Life Drawing.

1997 - 1999 - Attended Newquay Tretherras Sixth Form College, Cornwall, UK -  
                         received A-Levels in Art and Design, and Graphical Communication  
                         through the London Examinations Assessment Council.

1994 - 1997 - Attended Newquay Tretherras School, Cornwall, UK  - received 10  
                         General Certificates of Secondary Education, amongst which were Art  
                         and Design, and Design and Realisation.

1986 - 1994 - Attended various schools in Southern England and even one in the US,  
                         on Governors Island, NY. (PS. 26 -Billard Elementary).

            1981 - My twin brother and I were born in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, UK.
